Eversheds acts for Barings on private client investment management sale
International law firm Eversheds has acted for Baring Asset Management on an agreement for the sale of its private client investment management business to Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros (SGPB Hambros).
The private client investment management unit of Baring is based in London and Guernsey and offers specialist investment advice across a wide range of traditional and alternative asset classes.
The Eversheds team, led by corporate partner Rob Pitcher and corporate senior associate Rachel Broquard, advised Barings on the terms of the sale and the legal and regulatory structuring of the transfer of the business which is expected to become effective in May 2011. Rob and Rachel were supported by financial services partner Julian Brown, solicitor Alistair Cuthbert and employment associate Gareth Wadley.
