Eversheds advises on a Sky high deal

International law firm Eversheds has advised entertainment and communications company Sky, on acquiring the lease for a 23,577 sq ft property, at Ventana House on the Sheffield Digital Campus.

The creation of the Sky base, which is the size of approximately half a football pitch is anticipated to create up to 500 jobs in the Sheffield region, primarily with a customer service focus.

Sheffield Digital Campus was developed in order to provide creative, digital and technology-led companies with state-of-the-art business accommodation in a prime location.

The Eversheds team was led by partner Julie Stobart and associate Jo Hawkins. Solicitor Andrew Taylor provided construction advice.

Jo Hawkins Commented:

“Sky is a valued and long standing client and it was a pleasure to advise them on acquiring the lease for the new building in what is an innovative and extremely interesting development.”

Ben Johnson, Head of Real Estate at Sky added:

“This is a very exciting deal for Sky, which will help us with our continued focus on excellent customer service as well as helping to boost jobs in the region. Eversheds provided a speedy and comprehensive service, allowing the lease to complete in a timely manner.”
