Multisol, which expects sales of £238m in 2012, is a specialist in the distribution of lubricant additives, high quality base oils and performance fluids in Europe and Africa. The company’s strong market position will enable Brenntag to successfully expand in to the lubricant additives and base oils market, while enhancing its capabilities in mixing and blending.
The Eversheds team was led by corporate partner Simon Masters and supported by senior associate Alasdair Outhwaite and solicitor Amy Fairfoull.
Simon Masters said:
“These two international brands seamlessly fit together, adding value to their offerings and strategically driving future growth. For Multisol, the company will be able to access cross selling opportunities and Brenntag’s global logistic capabilities, while Brenntag will benefit from Multisol’s excellent reputation in specialty chemicals.”
Paul Oliphant, CEO of Multisol, said:
“Over the last few years we have grown our business significantly enhancing our product and service offering and expanding our geographic footprint. This transaction is the next step in the Multisol story, as we become part of a dynamic global company.
“Eversheds has acted as our trusted legal adviser for many years, guiding us through a management buyout in 2008, and the team has been closely involved through all stages of this sale process. The Eversheds team provided a fantastic all-round legal service; they were professional, responsive and incredibly driven in helping is deliver our strategic goals.”
