Eversheds Chief Executive Bryan Hughes, announced that revenue was £11.5m (7%) ahead of prior year.
Bryan Hughes said:
"All of our key indicators are positive, with activity and billings ahead of last year. Our strong revenue position has flown down to the margins, with a £10m increase in net profit margin."
Service lines that saw really strong performances in the first six months were Financial Services Litigation (15% growth), Construction Litigation (23% growth), Competition (22% growth) and Real Estate Environmental (27% growth).
The margin improvement is pleasing as the firm has continued to invest, earlier this year Eversheds invested heavily in a groundbreaking merger in the Middle East which gives the firm unrivalled geographic coverage with offices in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Baghdad, Doha, Dubai and Riyadh. The first half of the year also saw Eversheds invest in offices in Spain, Hamburg and Romania. The firm's international operations have also made a good start to the year with an overall 22% increase in revenue.
Bryan Hughes continued:
"It goes without saying that market conditions remain interesting, in recent weeks changing almost by the hour. However, we have had a good half year which gives us a robust platform for the next six months."
