Eversheds bolsters City banking team with HSBC banker
International law firm Eversheds has appointed former HSBC banker Victoria Read as a banking partner in its London office.
Victoria originally trained as a solicitor at Linklaters. Having initially been seconded to RBS as a lawyer, she subsequently joined as a banker, enjoying a successful career arranging corporate event and non-event driven financings. In 2008, she joined HSBC as a director in loans syndicate before finding her path back into law.
Commenting on her appointment, Victoria Read said:
“I am very excited to be back in the legal field where my career originated and to be joining a team with whom I have worked closely as a banker. My hands on banking experience will assist me greatly in offering a more commercial approach to the legal advice we give to our clients.”
David Boyd, Head of Banking at Eversheds added:
“Victoria has a wealth of experience and fantastic commercial acumen which will be a great asset to our clients. Eversheds has a well established banking and finance team, offering a full range of financing transactions and Victoria’s appointment will strongly complement our existing offering.”
