Eversheds cleans up in The Sunday Times Best Green Companies list
For the second year running, International law firm Eversheds has achieved the highest ranking position for a law firm in The Sunday Times Best Green Companies list, moving up 24 places on last year’s result and finishing twelfth place in the annual ranking index.
Now in its fourth year, the ‘Best Green Companies’ has become a standard by which companies can measure their environmental credentials. Only organisations demonstrating the highest environmental standards, with workforces wholly engaged and in tune with their green initiatives have made it into the highly esteemed top 60 listing.
Both inside and outside the firm, Eversheds has sought to help the environment, with many staff volunteering their time to take part in environmental volunteering programmes with the BTCV. The firm is also a founding member of the Legal Sector Alliance, a movement of law firms and organisations committed to working collaboratively to take action on climate change by reducing their carbon footprint and adopting environmentally sustainable practices.
Claire Goody Eversheds Environment, Health and Safety Manager said:
“It is a testament to the dedication of the firm that we have moved so far up the ranks in this year’s listing. As a firm we are committed to introducing best environmental practice across the board and we are continually innovating in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint, with an objective to reduce our carbon emissions by a further 2.5% in 2011.”
