Eversheds partner appointed Professor of Employment Law at the University of East Anglia

International law firm Eversheds LLP is delighted to announce that partner Owen Warnock has been appointed Professor of Employment Law at the University of East Anglia. Owen will split his time between this new post and his on-going role as a partner in Eversheds.

Owen, who is based in Eversheds’ Cambridge office, is a member of the firm’s Human Resources Practice Group, and advises national and international clients of the firm particularly on age discrimination and collective labour law. He also has a niche expertise in UK and European food labelling law.

Owen Warnock said:

“I consider my appointment to this post is an honour both for me and for Eversheds. I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to contribute to the development of understanding in the ever-changing field of employment law, and I believe that my involvement in legal practice will bring real benefits for the UEA Law School and its students.

“In addition to supplementing the existing high quality teaching and research of the UEA Law School in employment law, I will be contributing to the School’s ground-breaking addition of professional skills modules to its LLB degree course.”

Martin Warren, Eversheds Human Resources Practice Group Head, said:

“We see this as one of a number of new developments in our employment law team which will continue to keep Eversheds at the forefront in providing the latest thinking and the deepest practical advice to our clients.”

Professor Alastair Mullis, Head of the School of Law at the University of East Anglia said:

"We are absolutely delighted that Owen has accepted our offer to join the UEA Law School. Owen has a formidable reputation in both practice and academia as an employment lawyer and he will play a major role in helping us develop further our very successful postgraduate programmes in the area.

“Owen will also be taking a leading role in the teaching of professional skills. The School has made significant changes to our undergraduate curriculum bringing the teaching of transferrable and professional skills into the heart of our teaching of substantive law. Owen’s arrival strengthens considerably our ability to deliver one of the most relevant and exciting undergraduate degrees in the UK.”
