Eversheds to advise Morgan Sindall Investments on £450m development
International law firm Eversheds has been appointed to advise Morgan Sindall Investments (MSIL) on its work in developing the £450m Royal Pier Waterfront development in Southampton.
Morgan Sindall will partner with Southampton City Council, The Crown Estate and Associated British Ports, who jointly own the 60-acre site.
The Royal Pier Waterfront is situated adjacently to the main operational areas of the Port of Southampton. The 20-year scheme intends to include a major mixed-use development with residential and office accommodation, specialist retail outlets and boat facilities.
The project is being led by partner Stephen Sorrell, assisted by partner Adrian Hill, Real Estate and partner Kuljeet Hothi, Structures
Stephen commented:
“This development will be a huge boost for Southampton and bring vital jobs to the City. We look forward to working collaboratively with long standing client MSIL in progressing what will be an exciting project.”
Andrew Savege, Head of Regeneration at Morgan Sindall Investments commented:
“When looking for a legal advisor for the project, Eversheds was a natural choice due to their breadth of expertise advising on Public Private Partnership arrangements. We look forward to working with them on what will be both an interesting and innovative project for the region.”
This project follows quickly on from the recently exchanged LABV project with Bournemouth Borough Council to deliver a similar value mixed use scheme.
